OUR STAFFMICHAEL BROWN, DVM
A Northwest native, Dr. Michael Brown, has 35 years emergency veterinarian experience in treating small animals, birds and exotics.
Dr. Brown graduated with his degree in veterinary medicine from Washington State University in 1977. In 1978, Dr. Brown started working at an emergency veterinary clinic in Lynnwood and then Bellevue, Washington in 1979.
In 1984, Dr. Brown facilitated the start-up of After Hours Animal Emergency Clinic in Auburn, Washington which changed their name in 2010 to Affordable Animal Emergency Clinic to align with Dr. Brown’s and the clinic’s philosophy of practicing high quality compassionate medicine with an emphasis on affordable animal emergency care.
Dr. Brown stays active in the great outdoors by fishing, rock collecting and boating while spending most of his free time with his lovely family.

HAU YAN "RUBY" DONNAWAY, DVM
After growing up in Hong Kong, "Ruby" graduated with a DVM (doctorate of veterinary medicine) from Mississippi State University in 2002.
She began her career in regular daytime practice prior to having kids and has been working night and relief shifts since. She has been with Affordable Animal Emergency Clinic since 2007 and also a relief veterinarian for several day clinics.
Ruby and her husband have two little humans and a chocolate lab-mix, Faye (a Mississippi stray) in their family. Besides being grateful for having both of the jobs she loves (veterinarian and mom), she also likes singing and playing basketball.
She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Southern.

NATHANIAL STEWART, BVS, MS, DVM
Dr. Stewart has practiced emergency medicine and surgery for 12 years, after earning his Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science,Master of Science, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Washington State University.
He is married and has 2 sons, along with 2 dogs, 3 cats, 9 koi, and 4 horses. He enjoys horseback riding, hiking, mountainbiking, Rapier fencing, and eastern martial arts.
"We thought our dog had broken his leg as she was limping. The Veterinarian (Dr. Brown--Thank God he was on duty) was amazing. He gave us the option of getting x-rays but said he didn't think they were necessary as he didn't think leg was broken. I was more than willing to pay the x-rays but he chose to be honest with me. A lot of vets will not do that."
